Dr. David Johnson is a board-certified internist with extensive experience across academic medicine, traditional internal medicine, and hospital medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Johns Hopkins University, where he later served as an academic hospitalist, teaching medical students at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. During this time, he was actively involved in resident education and also maintained his own patient panel at the JHU Internal Medicine Clinic.
In 2019, Dr. Johnson relocated to Frederick and continued his career as a hospitalist. He has served in several leadership roles, including Associate Medical Director for the Hospital Medicine team at Frederick Health and Vice Chair for the Department of Medicine.
In May 2025, Dr. Johnson transitioned to outpatient medicine to establish his primary care clinic in Frederick, MD. He brings a strong commitment to patient-centered care, comprehensive internal medicine, and building long-term relationships with the communities he serves.

At Urbana Medical Associates, Apolina Rodriguez, DNP, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care across the lifespan. With experience in community-based healthcare settings, she has cared for diverse patient populations, with a strong emphasis on preventive care and patient education. She is committed to improving access to quality healthcare and continuity of care for her patients. She believes in lifelong learning to ensure her patients receive up-to-date, evidence-based care.
She is passionate about empowering patients through education and ensuring access to timely, quality healthcare. She is proud to serve the local community and is committed to helping patients feel informed, supported, and confident in their care.
